THINGS, 2012 AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA
STAGE 8 BEVERLY HILLS TO L.A. LIVE

The final Stage of the 2012 Tour started in Beverly Hills and made its way to Downtown L.A. where it made six 4.55 mile, 7.4 kilometer circuit laps including the Finish line at the L.A. Live area. These photographs are from the L.A. Live complex and Finish area before the Finish, of the Racers on the Circuit Laos, the Finish and the Stage 8 Awards.

A Breakaway group of seven Racers held a 35 second lead when they first came through the L.A. Live area. The Peloton caught the Breakaway with less than two circuits to go, setting the stage for a massive sprint for the win. After rounding the final corner, about .2 miles or .3 kilimeters from the Finish, the Sprint started and Peter Sagan, Liquigas - Cannondale, emerged from the front of the Peloton to win the Stage by only a few inches. Before the race, at the Finish area, Amgen held the Breakaway Mile celebration, honoring the millions of cancer survivors worldwide.
