These photographs are from a small protest that occured in Olympia, Washington, in November 2004

100,000 AND COUNTING

This was an event put on in January, 2005, on a cold rainy day, when the realistic death toll from the Iraq War was at least 100,000 civilians.

2nd ANNIVERSARY OF US INVASION

This protest was in Olympia, Washington, marking the 2nd anniversary of the U.S. invasion in March of 2005. The group met on the Capitol Campus where veterans and widows gave speeches and then moved to a park in Olympia where more speeches were given.

USNS PILILAAU AND
USNS FISHER PROTESTS

The USNS Pililaau and USNS Fisher are heavy transport vessels carrying military vehicles and other supplies to and from Iraq. The potential of the cargo of these ships to include contaminated and radioactive waste is very likely, and the US Navy will not allow any independent inspections.

2000 TOO MANY

When the US Military body count hit 2000 this protest took place in Olympia Washington. There were close to 2000 people demonstrating the loss of these lives for unjust reasons.

YOUTH AGAINST
WAR AND RACISM PROTEST

On November 2nd, 2005, members of Youth Against War and Racism (YAWR) protested the targeting of them by Military Recruiters at school. This protest took place at the Marine Recruiter office in Tacoma, Washington.

KEVIN BENDERMAN PROTEST

In March of 2006 several concerned people gathered at Fort Lewis in Washington to protest the imprisonment of Kevin Benderman, a soldier that, after serving in Iraq, realized the war in Iraq was against his morals and ethics. He was denied Conscientious Objector status, refused to return to Iraq, and was imprisoned for not wanting to commit murder.
